# Hail Recon vs TrueFax

The clearest difference is rating: TrueFax at 5.0 against Hail Recon's 3.1. TrueFax also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Hail Recon's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 57 months) and ratings volume (97 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TrueFax holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hail Recon has 97 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hail Recon ships an update every 3 months, TrueFax every 57 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
