# SketchApp vs Drawing Apps

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Drawing Apps at 63% against SketchApp's 20%. Drawing Apps also leads on ratings volume (5.2K vs 3) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). SketchApp's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and in-app purchases (none vs 15). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drawing Apps sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. SketchApp asks for nothing beyond the download.

SketchApp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drawing Apps has 5.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of SketchApp's written reviews are positive against 63% of Drawing Apps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SketchApp ships an update every 4 months, Drawing Apps monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
