# Speed Tracker vs ScooterSpeed

The clearest difference is ads: ScooterSpeed at none against Speed Tracker's shown. ScooterSpeed also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Speed Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (6.2K vs 6) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Tracker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and ScooterSpeed sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speed Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Tracker has 6.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speed Tracker ships an update monthly, ScooterSpeed every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
