# StringMaster Lite vs Guitar Blast

The clearest difference is monetization model: StringMaster Lite at free with in-app purchases against Guitar Blast's subscription. StringMaster Lite also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Guitar Blast's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (239 vs 24). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StringMaster Lite sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Guitar Blast sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for StringMaster Lite against 4.8 for Guitar Blast. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guitar Blast has 239 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of StringMaster Lite's written reviews are positive against 83% of Guitar Blast's.

StringMaster Lite ships an update every 6 months, Guitar Blast every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
