# Runner's World SA vs Outside

The clearest difference is rating: Outside at 4.6 against Runner's World SA's 3.0. Outside also leads on ratings volume (1.9K vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Runner's World SA sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Outside sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $89.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Outside holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outside has 1.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 0% of Runner's World SA's written reviews are positive against 22% of Outside's.

Runner's World SA ships an update every 4 months, Outside every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
