# Chordex vs Melomania

The clearest difference is price: Melomania at Free against Chordex's $0.99. Melomania also leads on review sentiment (64% vs 33%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 21 months). Chordex's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Melomania is free to download; Chordex costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chordex holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Melomania has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Chordex's written reviews are positive against 64% of Melomania's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chordex ships an update every 21 months, Melomania monthly. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
