# 5 vs Q StudentConnection

The clearest difference is update cadence: 5 at monthly against Q StudentConnection's every 11 months. 5 also leads on ratings volume (6.6K vs 50) and review sentiment (27% vs 13%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Q StudentConnection holds the better App Store score, 1.6 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 5 has 6.6K ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of 5's written reviews are positive against 13% of Q StudentConnection's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

5 ships an update monthly, Q StudentConnection every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
