# Progress Today vs Shilo

The clearest difference is ads: Progress Today at none against Shilo's shown. Progress Today also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Shilo's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 19 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Progress Today against 5.0 for Shilo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shilo has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Progress Today ships an update every 19 months, Shilo every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
