# SideCast vs Ask Fortuna

The clearest difference is ads: Ask Fortuna at none against SideCast's shown. Ask Fortuna also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12 vs 15.0). SideCast's advantage is ratings volume (209 vs 6) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SideCast sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ask Fortuna sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ask Fortuna holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SideCast has 209 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of SideCast's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ask Fortuna's.

SideCast ships an update every 3 months, Ask Fortuna every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
