# Calendars vs Focus Task

The clearest difference is update cadence: Calendars at weekly against Focus Task's every 6 months. Calendars also leads on ratings volume (122K vs 51) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Focus Task's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendars sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Focus Task sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calendars holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 122K ratings behind it against 51, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Calendars's written reviews are positive against 75% of Focus Task's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calendars ships an update weekly, Focus Task every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
