# Calendars vs GroupCal

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Calendars at 122K against GroupCal's 875. Calendars also leads on chart position (#108 vs unranked). GroupCal's advantage is review sentiment (79% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.2). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendars sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and GroupCal sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Calendars against 4.7 for GroupCal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 122K ratings behind it against 875, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of Calendars's written reviews are positive against 79% of GroupCal's.

Calendars ships an update weekly, GroupCal every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
