# Calendars vs Simple Calendar

The clearest difference is ads: Calendars at none against Simple Calendar's shown. Calendars also leads on ratings volume (123K vs 74) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendars sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Simple Calendar sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calendars holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 123K ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Calendars's written reviews are positive against 60% of Simple Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calendars ships an update weekly, Simple Calendar every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
