# Calendars vs Event Planner

The clearest difference is rating: Calendars at 4.7 against Event Planner's 4.3. Calendars also leads on ratings volume (122K vs 28) and chart position (#139 vs unranked). Event Planner's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendars sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Event Planner sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calendars holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 122K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Calendars's written reviews are positive against 76% of Event Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
