# Calendars vs Shifty Calendar

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shifty Calendar at 84% against Calendars's 56%. Shifty Calendar also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.2). Calendars's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (123K vs 246). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calendars sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Shifty Calendar sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calendars holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 123K ratings behind it against 246, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Calendars's written reviews are positive against 84% of Shifty Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calendars ships an update weekly, Shifty Calendar every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
