# Diagnostics vs Formula 1®

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Diagnostics at 100% against Formula 1®'s 39%. Diagnostics also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 14) and ads (none vs shown). Formula 1®'s advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 28 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Formula 1® sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Diagnostics asks for nothing beyond the download.

Formula 1® holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Formula 1® has 84K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Diagnostics's written reviews are positive against 39% of Formula 1®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Diagnostics ships an update every 28 months, Formula 1® fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
