# Sticky Notes vs JotNotes

The clearest difference is monetization model: JotNotes at free with in-app purchases against Sticky Notes's subscription. JotNotes also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Sticky Notes's advantage is ratings volume (6K vs 3) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sticky Notes sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and JotNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JotNotes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sticky Notes has 6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Sticky Notes's written reviews are positive against 67% of JotNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sticky Notes ships an update every 5 weeks, JotNotes every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
