# Sticky Notes vs Note on Wallpaper

The clearest difference is monetization model: Note on Wallpaper at free with in-app purchases against Sticky Notes's subscription. Note on Wallpaper also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). Sticky Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (6K vs 16). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sticky Notes sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Note on Wallpaper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sticky Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sticky Notes has 6K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Sticky Notes's written reviews are positive against 80% of Note on Wallpaper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sticky Notes ships an update every 5 weeks, Note on Wallpaper fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
