# Daylight BASIC vs GPS Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Daylight BASIC at 80% against GPS Pro's 35%. Daylight BASIC also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.1). GPS Pro's advantage is rating (2.3 vs 2.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Pro sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Daylight BASIC asks for nothing beyond the download.

GPS Pro holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Daylight BASIC's written reviews are positive against 35% of GPS Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Daylight BASIC ships an update every 2 months, GPS Pro every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
