# The Random Number Generator! vs Random

The clearest difference is rating: The Random Number Generator! at 4.8 against Random's 4.3. The Random Number Generator! also leads on ratings volume (913 vs 6) and device support (5 vs 2). Random's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Random Number Generator! sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Random asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Random Number Generator! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Random Number Generator! has 913 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of The Random Number Generator!'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Random's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
