# V vs Snap

The clearest difference is monetization model: V at free against Snap's free with in-app purchases. V also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Snap's advantage is ratings volume (768 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

V holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snap has 768 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
