# BooAlert vs Group Ghost Chat

The clearest difference is price: BooAlert at Free against Group Ghost Chat's $0.99. BooAlert also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). Group Ghost Chat's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 31 months). On review sentiment, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

BooAlert is free to download; Group Ghost Chat costs $0.99 up front. BooAlert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Group Ghost Chat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Group Ghost Chat holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Group Ghost Chat has 95 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of BooAlert's written reviews are positive against 42% of Group Ghost Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BooAlert ships an update every 31 months, Group Ghost Chat monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
