# BooAlert vs Ghost Chat

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ghost Chat at every 3 weeks against BooAlert's every 31 months. Ghost Chat also leads on rating (3.7 vs 3.4) and review sentiment (58% vs 44%). BooAlert's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BooAlert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ghost Chat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ghost Chat holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Chat has 129 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of BooAlert's written reviews are positive against 58% of Ghost Chat's.

BooAlert ships an update every 31 months, Ghost Chat every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
