# BooAlert vs Ghost detector

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ghost detector at 100% against BooAlert's 44%. Ghost detector also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 31 months). BooAlert's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (3.4 vs 3.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BooAlert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ghost detector sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BooAlert holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BooAlert has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of BooAlert's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ghost detector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BooAlert ships an update every 31 months, Ghost detector weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
