# Forager Diary vs PlanaCan

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Forager Diary at 83% against PlanaCan's 50%. PlanaCan's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PlanaCan holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Forager Diary's written reviews are positive against 50% of PlanaCan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Forager Diary ships an update every 2 months, PlanaCan every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
