# Spotsesh vs RinkRat

The clearest difference is ads: RinkRat at none against Spotsesh's shown. RinkRat also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Spotsesh's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RinkRat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spotsesh has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spotsesh ships an update every 4 months, RinkRat every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
