# Gente vs Icon

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Icon at 100% against Gente's 16%. Icon also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Gente's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gente sells 31 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Icon sells 34 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Icon holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gente has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 16% of Gente's written reviews are positive against 100% of Icon's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
