# FlowVPN vs Privacy VPN

The clearest difference is rating: FlowVPN at 4.6 against Privacy VPN's 4.2. FlowVPN also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 53). Privacy VPN's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlowVPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Privacy VPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlowVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlowVPN has 3.8K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of FlowVPN's written reviews are positive against 50% of Privacy VPN's.

FlowVPN ships an update every 2 months, Privacy VPN monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
