# FlowVPN vs PurePrivacy

The clearest difference is rating: FlowVPN at 4.6 against PurePrivacy's 3.8. FlowVPN also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 22) and review sentiment (51% vs 43%). PurePrivacy's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlowVPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and PurePrivacy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FlowVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlowVPN has 3.8K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of FlowVPN's written reviews are positive against 43% of PurePrivacy's.

FlowVPN ships an update every 2 months, PurePrivacy every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
