# TECNIS® Vision Simulator vs SMART Educator

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TECNIS® Vision Simulator at 67% against SMART Educator's 0%. TECNIS® Vision Simulator also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1). SMART Educator's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SMART Educator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TECNIS® Vision Simulator has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of TECNIS® Vision Simulator's written reviews are positive against 0% of SMART Educator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TECNIS® Vision Simulator ships an update every 9 months, SMART Educator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
