# Ruler® vs Measuring Tape +ㅤ

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ruler® at free with in-app purchases against Measuring Tape +ㅤ's subscription. Ruler® also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (35K vs 5.2K). Measuring Tape +ㅤ's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (51% vs 22%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ruler® sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Measuring Tape +ㅤ sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Measuring Tape +ㅤ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruler® has 35K ratings behind it against 5.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 22% of Ruler®'s written reviews are positive against 51% of Measuring Tape +ㅤ's.

Ruler® ships an update every 2 months, Measuring Tape +ㅤ every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
