# Heads Up! vs Charades!™

The clearest difference is price: Charades!™ at Free against Heads Up!'s $1.99. Charades!™ also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Heads Up!'s advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ads (none vs shown). On in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Charades!™ is free to download; Heads Up! costs $1.99 up front. Heads Up! sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Charades!™ sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Heads Up! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heads Up! has 298K ratings behind it against 8.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Heads Up!'s written reviews are positive against 70% of Charades!™'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Heads Up! ships an update every 9 days, Charades!™ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
