# Mindmarker vs O'Reilly

The clearest difference is rating: O'Reilly at 4.7 against Mindmarker's 3.4. O'Reilly also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (34K vs 16). Mindmarker's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 46%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

O'Reilly holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: O'Reilly has 34K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Mindmarker's written reviews are positive against 46% of O'Reilly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mindmarker ships an update every 3 months, O'Reilly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
