# MUBI vs Laikable

The clearest difference is rating: MUBI at 4.7 against Laikable's 2.6. MUBI also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 5) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). Laikable's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 59%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MUBI sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Laikable sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MUBI holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MUBI has 11K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of MUBI's written reviews are positive against 100% of Laikable's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MUBI ships an update weekly, Laikable every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
