# Just CrossStitch vs Dotsee

Just CrossStitch and Dotsee both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dotsee's written reviews are positive against 21% of Just CrossStitch's. Dotsee also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 13 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Just CrossStitch's advantage is ratings volume (117 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Just CrossStitch sells 35 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Dotsee sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Just CrossStitch against 4.7 for Dotsee. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just CrossStitch has 117 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 21% of Just CrossStitch's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dotsee's.

Just CrossStitch ships an update every 13 months, Dotsee every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
