# Score Creator vs MIDI Score

The clearest difference is rating: MIDI Score at 4.0 against Score Creator's 3.5. MIDI Score also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15). Score Creator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Score Creator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and MIDI Score sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MIDI Score holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 495 and 151 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Score Creator's written reviews are positive against 43% of MIDI Score's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Score Creator ships an update every 11 days, MIDI Score every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
