# HorizonWebRef.com vs RefCapture

The clearest difference is ratings volume: HorizonWebRef.com at 1.6K against RefCapture's 1. RefCapture's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RefCapture holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HorizonWebRef.com has 1.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HorizonWebRef.com ships an update every 2 weeks, RefCapture every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
