# Praise Cathedral vs Spinx Xtras

The clearest difference is ads: Praise Cathedral at none against Spinx Xtras's shown. Praise Cathedral also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 51%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Spinx Xtras's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (7.2K vs 8). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Spinx Xtras holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spinx Xtras has 7.2K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Praise Cathedral's written reviews are positive against 51% of Spinx Xtras's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Praise Cathedral ships an update every 3 months, Spinx Xtras every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
