# Backblaze vs MultCloud

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Backblaze at none against MultCloud's 15. Backblaze also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and review sentiment (35% vs 23%). MultCloud's advantage is rating (3.0 vs 2.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MultCloud sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Backblaze asks for nothing beyond the download.

MultCloud holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 27 and 42 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Backblaze's written reviews are positive against 23% of MultCloud's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backblaze ships an update every 2 months, MultCloud every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
