# Scenic Map vs Topo Maps 2

The clearest difference is rating: Scenic Map at 4.7 against Topo Maps 2's 4.1. Scenic Map also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 38%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Topo Maps 2's advantage is ratings volume (35 vs 3) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scenic Map sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Topo Maps 2 sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
