# TimeSignals vs School Chimes

The clearest difference is rating: TimeSignals at 4.5 against School Chimes's 3.7. School Chimes's advantage is ratings volume (56 vs 6) and review sentiment (58% vs 49%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeSignals sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and School Chimes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TimeSignals holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: School Chimes has 56 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of TimeSignals's written reviews are positive against 58% of School Chimes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
