# ClassBook vs EBook Libre

The clearest difference is ads: ClassBook at none against EBook Libre's shown. ClassBook also leads on review sentiment (84% vs 59%) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). EBook Libre's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ClassBook sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and EBook Libre sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ClassBook holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EBook Libre has 153 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of ClassBook's written reviews are positive against 59% of EBook Libre's.

ClassBook ships an update every 2 months, EBook Libre every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
