# Cited vs Citation Generator Lite

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Citation Generator Lite at 75% against Cited's 29%. Cited's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 2.5) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cited holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Cited's written reviews are positive against 75% of Citation Generator Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cited ships an update every 2 months, Citation Generator Lite every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
