# Remote Shutter vs Wristcam

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wristcam at none against Remote Shutter's 6. Wristcam also leads on rating (3.9 vs 3.6). Remote Shutter's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Remote Shutter sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Wristcam asks for nothing beyond the download.

Wristcam holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 43 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Remote Shutter's written reviews are positive against 33% of Wristcam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Remote Shutter ships an update every 6 days, Wristcam every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
