# Sunfollower vs Golden Hour

The clearest difference is price: Golden Hour at Free against Sunfollower's $2.99. Golden Hour also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (397 vs 12). Sunfollower's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (70% vs 49%). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Golden Hour is free to download; Sunfollower costs $2.99 up front. Golden Hour sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sunfollower asks for nothing beyond the download.

Golden Hour holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Golden Hour has 397 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Sunfollower's written reviews are positive against 49% of Golden Hour's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sunfollower ships an update every 4 months, Golden Hour every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
