# IIDControl vs Powergate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: IIDControl at 67% against Powergate's 12%. IIDControl also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Powergate's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Powergate holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Powergate has 299 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of IIDControl's written reviews are positive against 12% of Powergate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IIDControl ships an update every 2 months, Powergate every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
