# WizNote HD vs MarginNote 3

The clearest difference is rating: MarginNote 3 at 4.7 against WizNote HD's 4.1. MarginNote 3 also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 13) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WizNote HD sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and MarginNote 3 sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MarginNote 3 holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MarginNote 3 has 5K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of WizNote HD's written reviews are positive against 75% of MarginNote 3's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WizNote HD ships an update every 2 months, MarginNote 3 every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
