# WizNote HD vs Effie

The clearest difference is rating: Effie at 4.3 against WizNote HD's 4.0. Effie also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and device support (4 vs 1). WizNote HD's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WizNote HD sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Effie sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Effie holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 36 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of WizNote HD's written reviews are positive against 75% of Effie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WizNote HD ships an update every 2 months, Effie fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
