# ZipGrade vs NYCHSCL

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: NYCHSCL at none against ZipGrade's 1. NYCHSCL also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 86%). ZipGrade's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (36K vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ZipGrade sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. NYCHSCL asks for nothing beyond the download.

ZipGrade holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZipGrade has 36K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of ZipGrade's written reviews are positive against 100% of NYCHSCL's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
