# ZipGrade vs Palma School

The clearest difference is rating: ZipGrade at 4.9 against Palma School's 4.0. ZipGrade also leads on ratings volume (36K vs 38) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). Palma School's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ZipGrade sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Palma School asks for nothing beyond the download.

ZipGrade holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZipGrade has 36K ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of ZipGrade's written reviews are positive against 100% of Palma School's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ZipGrade ships an update every 6 weeks, Palma School every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
