# BrainBreak vs Alison

The clearest difference is price: Alison at Free against BrainBreak's $2.99. Alison also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (12K vs 2). BrainBreak's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 21) and ads (none vs shown). On device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Alison is free to download; BrainBreak costs $2.99 up front. Alison sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. BrainBreak asks for nothing beyond the download.

Alison holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alison has 12K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of BrainBreak's written reviews are positive against 79% of Alison's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BrainBreak ships an update every 6 weeks, Alison every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
